Ingredients
1 pound elbow macaroni
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound ground beef
1 yellow onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook elbow macaroni until al dente, then drain and set aside.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add diced onion and bell pepper and cook until softened.
3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
4. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Break it apart with a spoon and drain any excess fat.
5. Pour in crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer uncovered for 10–15 minutes.
6. Add the cooked macaroni to the sauce. Stir until evenly combined and heated through.
7. Serve hot, optionally garnished with shredded parmesan or fresh parsley.
Notes
This dish stores beautifully for up to 4 days in the fridge.
Add red pepper flakes if you like a little heat.
Swap in ground turkey for a leaner version.
