Ingredients

3 large russet potatoes

1 pound ground sausage

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 can cream of mushroom soup

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

1. Peel and slice the russet potatoes into 1/8-inch rounds.

13. Let rest 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

This recipe is freezer-friendly before or after baking.

You can substitute turkey or chicken sausage for a leaner option.

For a spicy version, use hot Italian sausage or add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
