Ingredients
1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1 lb bacon, diced
2 apples, cored and chopped
1 onion, chopped
4 sprigs of fresh thyme
4 sprigs of fresh rosemary
1 cup chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
- Prepare the seasoning by mixing softened butter, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Rub the butter mixture generously under the turkey’s skin and over the exterior.
- Stuff the turkey with chopped apples, onions, thyme, and rosemary.
- Add diced bacon across the turkey’s top, ensuring an even layer.
- Place the turkey on a roasting rack inside a large roasting pan. Pour chicken broth into the pan for added moisture.
