Perfect as a healthy dessert or appetizer, this baked pear recipe is gluten-free, holiday-worthy, and ready in 30 minutes. Enjoy this fruit-forward dish with simple ingredients and gourmet flavor.

Ingredients

2 Bosc pears

½ cup crumbled feta cheese

¼ cup dried cranberries

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon olive oil

½ teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Slice the pears in half lengthwise and scoop out the cores with a spoon or melon baller.

3. If necessary, trim the bottoms so they sit flat in the baking dish.

4. Place the pear halves in a baking dish, cut side up, and brush lightly with olive oil.

5. Fill each pear center with crumbled feta and a spoonful of dried cranberries.

6. Drizzle honey generously over the pears, allowing it to coat the edges and center.

7. Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes, or until pears are soft and edges are golden.

8. Transfer to a plate, drizzle with baking juices, and sprinkle with thyme if using.

9. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

These baked pears are best enjoyed warm, but they’re delicious chilled too.

You can swap the feta for goat cheese if you prefer a creamier bite.

For a crunchy topping, sprinkle chopped walnuts or pecans before baking.
