Ingredients

2 lbs ground beef

1 lb ground sausage

1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes

1 (16 oz) can tomato sauce

1 (6 oz) can tomato paste

1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained

1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained

1 (15 oz) can corn, drained

1 cup beef broth

1 small onion, diced

1 green bell pepper, chopped

2 jalapeño peppers, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

3 tbsp chili powder

1 tbsp cumin

1 tbsp smoked paprika

1 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 tsp black pepper

1 tsp salt

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp hot sauce (optional)

1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp oregano

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the diced onions, green bell pepper, and jalapeños. Sauté for about 5 minutes until soft, then stir in the garlic and cook for another minute.
  2. Add the ground beef and sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 7-10 minutes, then drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste. Mix well, then pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using).
  4. Add the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt, oregano, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Stir thoroughly and let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Add the kidney beans, black beans, and corn. Reduce the heat and let it simmer uncovered for at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally. For deeper flavor, cook up to 2 hours.
  6. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. Add more cayenne for heat or a pinch of brown sugar for balance. Let simmer another 5-10 minutes.
  7. Serve hot with toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions, or tortilla chips. Enjoy!
