Description
These Brown Butter Cinnamon Crinkle Cookies are soft, chewy, and full of cozy cinnamon flavor with a nutty twist from browned butter. Perfect for holiday baking or any time you’re craving a sweet, crinkled treat.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
¾ cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and cook until golden brown with tiny brown bits at the bottom. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and browned butter until smooth.
3. Add eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture and beat until light and fluffy.
4. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
5. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until fully combined. The dough should be soft.
6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll into balls.
7. Roll each dough ball generously in powdered sugar to coat completely.
8. Place the balls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, 2 inches apart.
9. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 10–12 minutes until crinkled on top and set around the edges.
10. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Brown the butter first and let it cool to avoid cooking the eggs when mixing.
Make sure the dough isn’t too warm before rolling in powdered sugar.
Don’t overbake; the centers should still be soft when you take them out.
