Ingredients
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
¾ cup buttermilk
3 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 450°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. Cut in the cold, cubed butter using a pastry cutter or fingers until mixture forms coarse crumbs.
4. Add buttermilk and stir gently until the dough just comes together.
5. Transfer dough to a floured surface and pat it into a ¾-inch thick round.
6. Cut out biscuits using a round cutter and place them close together on the prepared baking sheet.
7. Bake for 12–14 minutes or until golden brown on top.
8. While biscuits are baking, mix the melted butter and honey in a small bowl.
9. Brush hot biscuits with the honey butter mixture as soon as they come out of the oven.
10. Serve warm and enjoy the sweet buttery glaze!
Notes
This dough should not be overmixed to maintain tenderness.
Use real buttermilk for the best flavor and rise.
Cold butter is key to flaky layers—don’t let it soften!
