Description

This Churro Saltine Toffee recipe is an irresistible dessert made with buttery caramel, crunchy saltines, and warm cinnamon sugar. Perfect for holidays, gifting, or a sweet snack, this easy no-bake churro toffee treat is a crowd-pleasing favorite with pantry staples.


Ingredients

40 saltine crackers

1 cup unsalted butter

1 cup brown sugar

1/3 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 pinch salt


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment or foil. Lay saltine crackers in a single layer to cover the entire surface.

2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and stir in brown sugar. Let it bubble gently for 3 minutes, stirring constantly until thickened.

3. Pour the caramel mixture evenly over the crackers and spread it with a spatula to cover all crackers.

4. Bake for 7 to 8 minutes until the toffee is bubbling and absorbed.

5. While still hot, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, then sprinkle over the hot toffee. Press down lightly so it sticks.

6. Let the toffee cool completely. Once hardened, break into pieces and store or serve.

Notes

Use salted saltines for best flavor contrast.

Add melted chocolate, nuts, or sea salt for variation.
