Description
This easy Coquito recipe is a creamy Puerto Rican coconut holiday drink made with sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, cream of coconut, and spiced with cinnamon and vanilla. A festive favorite served chilled, perfect for Christmas, New Year’s, or cozy winter nights.
Ingredients
1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 can (15 oz) cream of coconut (such as Coco López)
1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
1 cup white rum
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch ground nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
1. Gather all ingredients and let them come to room temperature for smooth blending.
2. Add evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, cream of coconut, and coconut milk to a blender. Blend on high until smooth and creamy.
3. Add white rum, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Blend again briefly to combine.
4. Pour mixture into sealed glass bottles or jars and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
5. Shake well before serving as spices may settle.
6. Serve chilled in small glasses, optionally garnished with a cinnamon stick or nutmeg sprinkle.
Notes
For a thicker drink, reduce the amount of coconut milk slightly.
Let the Coquito sit overnight for deeper flavor fusion.
Use a high-quality white rum for the best taste.
