Ingredients
1 lb penne pasta
1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 lb Italian sausage
3 cups fresh spinach
4 garlic cloves, minced
4 tbsp butter
1 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook penne until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and Italian sausage, breaking it apart as it browns. Drain excess fat.
3. Add butter to the pan. Once melted, stir in garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
4. Pour in heavy cream and stir. Let it gently simmer and thicken for 3–4 minutes.
5. Add fresh spinach and cook until wilted. Stir in Parmesan cheese until the sauce is creamy and smooth.
6. Add cooked penne into the sauce. Mix until fully coated. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
7. Serve hot with extra Parmesan on top, if desired.
Notes
This recipe feeds 4–6 people generously.
You can substitute kale for spinach or use spicy sausage for added heat.
To reheat, add a splash of cream or milk to revive the sauce texture.
