Ingredients
1 pound penne pasta
4 tablespoons butter
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne pasta until al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of the pasta water.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and stir until fragrant, about 1 minute.
3. Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Let it simmer for 3 to 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
4. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
5. Add the drained pasta to the skillet. Toss until evenly coated with the sauce and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes.
6. Serve warm, garnished with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan if desired.
