Description

These Crispy Cheesy Garlic Potatoes are the ultimate comfort side dish with golden edges, gooey cheese, and rich garlic butter. Perfect for holidays, Sunday dinners, or easy weeknight meals. This easy potato recipe is gluten-free and customizable.

Ingredients

45 medium Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes

4 tablespoons butter

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

1. Wash and peel the potatoes (optional), then slice them thinly using a sharp knife or mandoline. Try to keep the slices as uniform as possible.

2. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about a minute until fragrant. Remove from heat, stir in olive oil, salt, and black pepper.

3. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Grease a baking dish or cast-iron skillet. Begin layering the potato slices, brushing each layer with garlic butter and sprinkling shredded cheddar and parmesan in between.

4. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking uncovered for 25–30 minutes until the top is golden and crispy.

5. Let it cool for 5 minutes, garnish with fresh parsley if using, and serve warm.

Notes

Use a mandoline slicer for evenly thin potato slices.

Don’t skip the foil step – it helps the potatoes cook through before crisping.

You can switch up the cheeses or add fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for variety.
