Description

This Crispy Herb Stuffing recipe is the ultimate holiday side dish, filled with fresh herbs, golden bread cubes, and savory buttered aromatics. Whether you’re planning a Thanksgiving feast or a cozy Sunday dinner, this flavorful stuffing brings crunchy edges, a moist center, and comforting homemade flavor. Perfect alongside turkey, roasted chicken, or a vegetarian spread.

Ingredients

10 cups dried bread cubes

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 large yellow onion, diced

3 celery stalks, diced

1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage

1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

2 1/2 cups chicken or vegetable broth

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 large eggs, beaten

Instructions

1. Cube the bread and dry overnight or toast in a 300°F oven for 15–20 minutes until crisp.

2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté onion and celery until soft. Add sage, thyme, and parsley and cook 1 more minute.

3. In a large bowl, toss bread cubes with sautéed mixture. Gradually stir in broth until moistened. Season with salt and pepper.

4. Whisk eggs separately and stir them into the stuffing to bind.

5. Transfer mixture into a greased baking dish. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.

6. Uncover and bake another 20–25 minutes until top is golden and crispy.

7. Let rest a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes

Use day-old crusty bread for best texture.

Don’t over-soak the bread or it may get mushy.

You can add cooked sausage, mushrooms, or dried cranberries for variation.
