Description

This crispy honey-glazed shrimp recipe is the perfect blend of sweet, savory, and crunchy. Golden-fried shrimp are tossed in a sticky honey soy glaze for an easy dinner that’s better than takeout. Great for weeknight meals, seafood lovers, or appetizer spreads.


Ingredients

1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined, tails removed)

1/2 cup cornstarch

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/3 cup honey

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Vegetable oil for frying


Instructions

1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

2. In one bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs.

3. Dip each shrimp in the dry mixture, then in the egg, and again in the dry mix. Press lightly to coat.

4. Heat oil to 350°F in a skillet or pot. Fry shrimp in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.

5. In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Simmer until slightly thickened. Add red pepper flakes if desired.

6. Toss the fried shrimp in the glaze while still warm and serve immediately.

Notes

Coating the shrimp twice in the flour mix ensures extra crunch.

Use an oil thermometer to keep the frying temp consistent.

Toss the shrimp in the glaze just before serving to preserve crispiness.
