This Doritos Taco Casserole with Ground Beef is a cheesy, flavorful, and easy-to-make dinner recipe layered with seasoned beef, sour cream, salsa, melted cheese, and crunchy Doritos. It’s the ultimate taco-inspired comfort food perfect for busy weeknights or game day!
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning
1 cup sour cream
1 cup salsa
2 cups shredded cheese
1 bag (9.75 oz) Nacho Cheese Doritos, slightly crushed
Optional toppings: chopped tomatoes, green onions, sliced olives, avocado
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain the excess grease.
3. Stir in the taco seasoning with 1/4 cup water. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
4. In a bowl, mix together sour cream and salsa until smooth.
5. Add a layer of crushed Doritos to the bottom of the baking dish.
6. Spoon half of the taco beef over the Doritos.
7. Drizzle half of the sour cream and salsa mixture over the beef.
8. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese over the top.
9. Repeat the layers with more Doritos, remaining beef, salsa mix, and finish with the remaining cheese.
10. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
11. Remove foil and bake uncovered for another 5-10 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
12. Garnish with desired toppings and serve hot.
Notes
Use freshly shredded cheese for better melt and texture.
Hold off on topping with fresh ingredients until just before serving.
Crush Doritos gently to maintain texture, not crumbs.
