Ingredients
12 ounces spaghetti
1 pound ground beef
24 ounces marinara sauce
1 large egg
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Cook spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
3. In a skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain fat.
4. Add marinara sauce to the beef and simmer for 5 minutes.
5. In a large bowl, combine cooked spaghetti, beaten egg, half the Parmesan, and Italian seasoning. Mix well.
6. Layer half the spaghetti mixture into the baking dish. Top with half the meat sauce, then half the mozzarella.
7. Repeat layers with remaining spaghetti, sauce, and cheeses.
8. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
9. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Bake covered first to avoid over-browning the cheese.
Use freshly grated cheese for best melt and flavor.
Cook pasta just until al dente to avoid mushy texture after baking.
