Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 tablespoon sesame oil
3 green onions, sliced
¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
2 cups cooked white rice (for serving)
Instructions
1. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil until well combined.
2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef. Cook until fully browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
3. Pour the sauce over the browned beef and stir to coat. Let it simmer for 5 to 8 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly.
4. Stir in green onions and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1 more minute, then remove from heat.
5. Serve hot over white rice, and garnish with sesame seeds or extra green onions if desired.
Notes
Use 85/15 ground beef for a juicy, flavorful result.
If using lean beef, add a splash of sesame oil to boost richness.
