Description
This Easy Sugar Cookie Glaze is the perfect finishing touch for your homemade sugar cookies. With powdered sugar, milk, and a hint of vanilla, this glaze dries beautifully with a glossy finish. Ideal for decorating and stacking, this icing is simple, shiny, and just sweet enough.
Ingredients
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
food coloring (optional)
Instructions
1. Sift the powdered sugar into a mixing bowl to remove any lumps.
2. Add the milk and corn syrup to the bowl and stir until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
3. Stir in the vanilla extract and mix until fully incorporated.
4. Adjust the consistency as needed by adding more milk for thinning or more sugar to thicken.
5. If coloring, divide the glaze into bowls and mix in food coloring.
6. Use immediately to glaze sugar cookies. Allow to set at room temperature for 2–4 hours until hardened.
Notes
This glaze will cover approximately 24 medium sugar cookies.
The glaze begins setting within 20 minutes of application.
For outlining cookies, use a slightly thicker consistency; for flooding, thin it out.
