Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt


Instructions

1. Melt the butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips together in a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler until smooth. Let it cool slightly.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until pale and fluffy.

3. Stir the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture and mix until combined.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

5. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients just until combined.

6. Use a cookie scoop to place dough onto a parchment-lined baking tray.

7. Bake at 350°F for 10–11 minutes, until tops are set and slightly cracked.

8. Let cookies rest on the baking sheet for 5–10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
