Description
These Gold Dusted Chocolate Profiteroles are elegant cream-filled choux pastries topped with rich dark chocolate ganache and a sparkle of edible gold. A stunning dessert for parties or celebrations, perfect for chocolate lovers and festive occasions.
Ingredients
1 cup water
½ cup unsalted butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 large eggs
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 ounces dark chocolate
½ cup heavy cream (for ganache)
1 teaspoon edible gold dust
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a medium saucepan, bring water and butter to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in flour until dough forms.
3. Let the dough cool slightly, then beat in eggs one at a time until glossy.
4. Transfer dough to a piping bag and pipe small mounds onto the baking sheet.
5. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until puffed and golden. Cool completely before filling.
6. In a bowl, whip 1 cup heavy cream with vanilla until soft peaks form. Chill the filling.
7. To make ganache, heat ½ cup heavy cream and pour over chopped dark chocolate. Stir until smooth.
8. Cut profiteroles in half and pipe in whipped cream filling.
9. Drizzle with ganache and dust lightly with edible gold.
10. Serve fresh or refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
Notes
These can be made a day ahead, just fill and top before serving.
Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
Do not open the oven while baking to ensure proper puff.
