Description

This Gooey Baked Brie with Fig Jam is a simple yet impressive appetizer recipe featuring creamy baked brie wrapped in golden puff pastry with sweet fig jam. Ingredients

1 wheel brie (8 oz)

3 tablespoons fig jam

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed but cold

1 egg, beaten

2 tablespoons chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

1 sprig fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out puff pastry to remove seams.

2. Place brie in the center of pastry and top with fig jam. Add optional nuts or herbs if using.

3. Fold pastry over brie, trim excess, and seal. Flip it so the seam is underneath. Brush with beaten egg.

4. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown. Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving.

5. Serve warm with crackers, baguette slices, or fresh fruit.

Notes

Brie rind is edible, no need to remove it before baking.

You can substitute fig jam with honey, apricot preserves, or cranberry sauce.

To reheat, bake at 300°F until warmed through (pastry may not be as crisp).
