Description

This Gordon Ramsay Chicken Tikka Masala recipe delivers a restaurant-quality dish with marinated grilled chicken, a rich creamy tomato sauce, and warming spices. Perfect for cozy dinners, it’s packed with garam masala, cumin, and coriander for bold flavor. A must-try for lovers of Indian-inspired chicken recipes and comfort food.

Ingredients

500g chicken thighs

150g plain yogurt

3 cloves garlic (minced)

1 tbsp fresh ginger (grated)

1 tbsp garam masala

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp ground coriander

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tbsp lemon juice

250g tomato puree

150ml heavy cream

2 tbsp butter

Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Combine plain yogurt, garlic, ginger, garam masala, ground cumin, ground coriander, smoked paprika, and lemon juice in a bowl.

2. Add chicken thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces), coat well, cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

3. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook marinated chicken until charred and fully cooked, about 4-5 minutes per side. Set aside.

4. In a large pan, melt butter and sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.

5. Stir in tomato puree, garam masala, cumin, and coriander. Cook until thickened.

6. Add heavy cream and simmer until the sauce is rich and smooth.

7. Add cooked chicken to the sauce and simmer for 10 minutes to combine flavors.

8. Adjust seasoning with salt or lemon juice. Garnish with chopped cilantro if desired.

9. Serve hot with naan or basmati rice.

Notes

This dish gets better after resting—make it ahead if possible.

You can use coconut cream for a dairy-free option.

For added smokiness, char chicken over open flame.
