Description

This easy Ground Beef Tacos recipe is a family-favorite, made in under 30 minutes with savory seasoned beef and classic taco toppings. Perfect for Taco Tuesday or weeknight dinners, these homemade tacos are quick, delicious, and endlessly customizable.


Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

2 teaspoons taco seasoning

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

¼ cup water or beef broth

8 taco shells (soft or crunchy)

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 cup diced tomatoes

1 cup shredded cheese

½ cup sour cream

Hot sauce (optional)


Instructions

1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a splash of oil.

2. Add diced onion and sauté until soft, about 3 minutes.

3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute until fragrant.

4. Add ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Continue stirring until browned and no longer pink.

5. Drain excess fat if needed.

6. Sprinkle in taco seasoning and pour in water or broth.

7. Stir to combine, reduce heat, and simmer for 5 to 7 minutes until the mixture thickens.

8. While beef simmers, warm taco shells in oven or microwave.

9. Fill each taco shell with beef mixture.

10. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and any additional toppings like hot sauce.

Notes

Keep the taco meat and toppings separate for storage to avoid sogginess.

Easily double the recipe to feed a crowd or for meal prepping.

You can use 90/10 beef but add a splash of broth to keep it juicy.
