Ingredients
1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients to prepare it)
16 oz cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup hot fudge sauce (warmed slightly)
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
2. Prepare brownie batter as directed on the box and pour it into the pan. Bake for 20 minutes until just set. Let it cool slightly.
3. Lower oven temperature to 325°F. In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth.
4. Add sugar and mix until well combined.
5. Beat in eggs one at a time.
6. Stir in vanilla and sour cream until fully mixed.
7. Pour the cheesecake layer over the brownie base.
8. Bake at 325°F for 45 to 50 minutes, until the center is slightly jiggly.
9. Turn off the oven, crack the door open, and let it cool inside for 1 hour.
10. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
11. Once chilled, warm the hot fudge sauce and pour it evenly over the top.
12. Sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.
13. Slice with a warm knife for clean cuts and serve.
