Ingredients
1 cup Amish friendship bread starter
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
2 large eggs
⅔ cup vegetable oil
½ cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar (for pan coating)
Instructions
1. Grease two loaf pans and dust them with cinnamon sugar to coat the inside.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and pudding mix.
3. In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the starter, oil, milk, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
4. Gradually stir the dry mixture into the wet mixture just until combined. Do not overmix.
5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
6. Bake at 325°F for 55 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
7. Let the loaves cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
