Description

Crispy and golden homemade egg rolls filled with savory pork, cabbage, and carrots are a perfect appetizer or snack. These easy-to-make egg rolls are better than takeout and great for parties, game days, or weeknight cravings. Make-ahead friendly and freezer-ready!

Ingredients

1 lb ground pork

2 cups shredded green cabbage

1 cup shredded carrots

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil

2 green onions, thinly sliced

12 egg roll wrappers

Oil for frying

Instructions

1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground pork until browned.

2. Add garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

3. Stir in cabbage and carrots, cook until softened.

4. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, and green onions. Mix well, then remove from heat to cool.

5. Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface like a diamond. Add 2 tablespoons of filling.

6. Fold bottom corner over filling, then fold in sides, and roll tightly. Seal top edge with water.

7. Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F.

8. Fry egg rolls in batches for 3–4 minutes until golden brown, turning occasionally.

9. Remove and drain on paper towel-lined plate.

10. Serve warm with dipping sauce of choice.

Notes

Keep wrappers covered with a damp towel to prevent drying out.

Make sure the oil is hot enough to avoid soggy rolls.

Freeze uncooked egg rolls on a tray, then transfer to a bag to fry later.
