Ingredients
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
4 large eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
1/4 cup honey (for glaze)
1/4 cup unsalted butter (for glaze)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract.
4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
5. Fold in chopped pecans gently without overmixing.
6. Pour batter into prepared dish and smooth the top.
7. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
8. While the bread bakes, melt 1/4 cup butter with 1/4 cup honey in a saucepan.
9. As soon as bread is out of the oven, pour the warm glaze over the top.
10. Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
This bread is best served warm with the glaze freshly poured.
You can toast the pecans beforehand to deepen their flavor.
Freezes well—just add glaze after thawing and reheating.
