Ingredients
1.5 lbs chicken thighs or breasts
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 egg
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup honey
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
2 tablespoons chopped green onions (optional)
Oil for frying
Instructions
1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and place them in a bowl. Whisk the egg and pour over the chicken. Mix to coat evenly.
2. Add cornstarch and toss until each piece is well-coated.
3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken in batches until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
4. In a clean skillet, combine soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Simmer until slightly thickened and glossy.
5. Return chicken to the pan and toss in the sauce until fully coated.
6. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
7. Serve immediately over rice or your favorite side.
Notes
Use chicken thighs for extra juiciness.
Cornstarch is key for that crunchy exterior.
Adjust honey or soy sauce based on how sweet or salty you like it.
