Ingredients
1 box brownie mix (for 8x8 or 9x9 pan) or homemade equivalent
16 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup hot fudge sauce
1 cup whipped cream
8 maraschino cherries
1/3 cup chopped peanuts or walnuts
Instructions
1. Prepare brownie batter according to package or recipe directions. Pour into a lined springform pan and bake until set. Let cool completely.
2. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and heavy cream.
3. Pour the cheesecake layer over the cooled brownie and bake in a water bath at 325°F for 50–60 minutes, until center is just set.
4. Let the cheesecake cool to room temp, then refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
5. Warm hot fudge slightly and pour over the chilled cheesecake.
6. Top with whipped cream, cherries, and chopped nuts.
7. Slice with a warm knife and serve cold.
Notes
This dessert is best when chilled overnight for clean slices.
