Ingredients
12 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts, sliced
2 tbsp olive oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp lemon zest
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add bowtie pasta and cook until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, drain, and set aside.
2. Season sliced chicken with salt and pepper. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Cook chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, reduce heat and add garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds. Stir in lemon zest and juice. Add heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
4. Return chicken to the skillet. Add cooked pasta and Parmesan. Stir until creamy. Add pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.
5. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
Use freshly grated Parmesan for best melting and flavor.
Don’t overcook the garlic; it can turn bitter.
Pasta water helps adjust sauce consistency without thinning flavor.
