Ingredients
10 hot dogs
1 pound ground beef
1 packet chili seasoning
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 can (15 oz) kidney beans (optional)
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
10 hot dog buns
Instructions
1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Break it up and cook until no longer pink. Drain the fat.
2. Transfer the cooked beef to the crockpot. Stir in the chili seasoning, tomato sauce, and kidney beans if using.
3. Add the hot dogs to the chili mixture, ensuring they’re mostly submerged.
4. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours.
5. About 10 minutes before serving, sprinkle cheddar cheese over the chili and let it melt.
6. Place each hot dog in a bun, spoon chili over the top, and add extra cheese or your favorite toppings.
Notes
Use all-beef hot dogs for the best flavor.
You can skip the beans if you prefer a smoother chili.
Freshly shredded cheese melts better than pre-shredded.
