Creamy, rich, and cool with peppermint extract, this easy dessert is perfect for Christmas gifting, potlucks, or after-dinner indulgence. Made with sweetened condensed milk, butter, and semi-sweet chocolate, it delivers a decadent bite every time.
Ingredients
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 drops green food coloring (optional)
2 tablespoons crushed peppermint candies or mint chocolate chips (optional topping)
Instructions
1. Line an 8ร8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter, stirring constantly.
3. Once smooth and melted, remove from heat and stir in peppermint extract, vanilla extract, and green food coloring if using.
4. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
5. Top with crushed peppermint candies or mint chocolate chips, if desired.
6. Let it cool at room temperature for 1 hour, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours until firm.
7. Lift out the fudge using parchment edges, slice into squares, and serve.
Notes
Use high-quality semi-sweet chocolate for the smoothest texture.
Do not substitute peppermint oil for extract โ itโs too concentrated.
Let the fudge come to room temp before slicing for cleaner cuts.
