Ingredients
2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Stir until evenly mixed.
3. In a separate bowl, melt the butter. Add the vanilla extract and honey (or maple syrup), and whisk until fully blended.
4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until a thick, crumbly dough forms.
5. Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan.
6. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until the top is golden and edges are set.
7. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing into 12 bars.
8. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 5 days, refrigerated for 10 days, or freeze up to 2 months.
