Description

This One-Pan Honey BBQ Chicken & Rice recipe is the ultimate weeknight dinner idea—made in one skillet with juicy chicken thighs, fluffy rice, and a smoky-sweet honey BBQ sauce. A comfort food favorite that’s simple, hearty, and perfect for families. Great for meal prep, leftovers, and busy days.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil

4 boneless skinless chicken thighs

1 cup long grain white rice

1 ½ cups chicken broth

½ cup honey BBQ sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.

2. Season chicken thighs with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

3. Sear the chicken skin-side down for 3–4 minutes until browned, flip, cook 2 minutes more. Remove and set aside.

4. In the same skillet, toast the rice for 1 minute.

5. Pour in the chicken broth and half of the honey BBQ sauce. Stir to combine and deglaze the pan.

6. Nestle chicken back into the pan over the rice.

7. Brush the remaining honey BBQ sauce over the chicken.

8. Cover the pan tightly with foil and bake at 375°F for 35 minutes.

9. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes.

10. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

This recipe works great with boneless thighs, breasts, or drumsticks.

To make ahead, prep everything and bake just before serving.

Add a dash of smoked paprika or chili flakes for extra flavor.
