Ingredients
1 lb sirloin steak, sliced thin
12 oz penne pasta (or rigatoni or fettuccine)
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp unsalted butter
1 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
2 1/2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season steak with salt and pepper. Sear steak strips until browned, then remove from pan.
2. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Cook until garlic is fragrant and lightly golden.
3. Add beef broth and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer. Stir in dry pasta and cook uncovered, stirring often, until pasta is al dente.
4. Stir in parmesan cheese until melted and sauce is creamy. Add more cream if needed to loosen sauce.
5. Return steak to the pot and toss to coat. Let it simmer for a few minutes to absorb flavor.
6. Serve hot with extra parmesan or fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
This recipe is best served immediately while hot and creamy.
