Description

Peanut Butter Cake is a soft, moist, and flavorful homemade cake packed with rich peanut butter flavor and topped with creamy peanut butter frosting. This easy dessert recipe is perfect for birthdays, potlucks, family gatherings, and anyone who loves classic peanut butter cake from scratch.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

3 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup whole milk

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup creamy peanut butter

2 1/2 cups powdered sugar

2 tablespoons heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. In a large bowl, beat the butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.

5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture in batches, alternating with the milk and sour cream, and mix just until combined.

6. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.

7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

8. Let the cake cool completely before frosting.

9. To make the frosting, beat the butter and peanut butter until smooth.

10. Add the powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract, then beat until fluffy and spreadable.

11. Spread the frosting over the cooled cake, slice, and serve.

Notes

Use creamy peanut butter for the smoothest batter and frosting texture.

Do not overmix the batter once the flour is added or the cake can turn dense.

Let the cake cool fully before frosting so the topping stays thick and creamy.
