Ingredients
1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons cornstarch
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow onion, sliced
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
1. Slice flank steak thinly across the grain and marinate with soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper for 15–30 minutes.
2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet or wok over high heat. Sear the steak in batches for 1–2 minutes per side. Set aside.
3. In the same pan, add remaining oil. Sauté bell peppers and onions for 3–4 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
4. Mix beef broth, brown sugar, and a tablespoon of soy sauce. Pour into the pan and simmer for 2 minutes.
5. Return steak to the pan and stir to coat. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens.
6. Serve hot over rice, noodles, or in lettuce cups. Enjoy!
Notes
Marinating the beef helps keep it tender and flavorful.
Use multiple colored bell peppers for a vibrant, sweeter finish.
Do not overcrowd the pan when cooking the beef to ensure a good sear.
