Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tbsp baking powder

1 tsp sugar

½ tsp salt

½ tsp garlic powder

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup buttermilk

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 egg

1 tsp dried parsley (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prep – Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a standard loaf pan.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients – In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and garlic powder. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  3. Prepare Wet Ingredients – In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, melted butter, and egg until smooth.
  4. Combine Mixtures – Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Bake – Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
