Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter

1 1/4 cups granulated sugar

3 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 tablespoons red food coloring

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 large egg (for cheesecake layer)


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a square baking pan.

2. In a large bowl, melt butter and mix with sugar, eggs, vanilla, red food coloring, and cocoa powder until smooth.

3. Fold in flour and salt until just combined.

4. Reserve 1/4 cup of the red velvet batter and spread the rest evenly into the pan.

5. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and 1 egg until creamy.

6. Dollop cheesecake mixture over the red velvet base.

7. Spoon the reserved batter on top and swirl with a knife to create a marbled pattern.

8. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until the center is just set.

9. Cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

Use block-style full-fat cream cheese for the best texture.

Let all ingredients come to room temperature before starting for smoother blending.
