Description

This Sausage Gravy Breakfast Pizza is a hearty Southern style breakfast recipe made with creamy sausage gravy, fluffy scrambled eggs, melted mozzarella and cheddar cheese, and a crispy pizza crust. Perfect for brunch, weekend breakfast, or holiday mornings, this easy breakfast pizza combines classic sausage gravy flavors with the fun of homemade pizza.

Ingredients

1 lb breakfast sausage

2 tbsp all purpose flour

1 1/2 cups milk

1 lb pizza dough

4 large eggs

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp salt

2 tbsp chopped green onions

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Roll out pizza dough on a baking sheet or pizza stone and prebake for about 5 minutes until slightly firm.

2. Cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles until fully browned.

3. Sprinkle flour over the cooked sausage and stir well. Slowly pour in the milk while stirring constantly until a thick creamy gravy forms. Season with salt and black pepper.

4. In another pan scramble the eggs gently until just set. They should remain slightly soft.

5. Spread the sausage gravy evenly over the prebaked pizza crust.

6. Add scrambled eggs on top of the gravy layer.

7. Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly across the pizza.

8. Bake the pizza for 10 to 12 minutes until the cheese melts and the crust turns golden.

9. Remove from the oven, sprinkle chopped green onions over the top, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

Prebaking the crust helps prevent it from becoming soggy once the gravy is added.

You can add crispy bacon pieces or diced bell peppers for extra flavor.

Reheat leftovers in an oven or air fryer to keep the crust crisp.
