Description
This Savory Garlic Butter Green Beans recipe is the perfect quick and easy side dish. Tender-crisp green beans tossed in rich garlic butter make it a flavorful low-carb, gluten-free option for any meal.
Ingredients
1 lb fresh green beans
2 tbsp butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until tender-crisp.
2. Immediately transfer green beans to an ice water bath to stop the cooking process and keep their bright color.
3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant.
4. Drain and pat dry the green beans, then add them to the skillet. Toss well to coat in the garlic butter and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.
5. Season with salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lemon juice if desired. Serve hot.
Notes
This dish is best served immediately after cooking.
You can prep the green beans ahead by blanching and storing them in the fridge.
Add red pepper flakes or a sprinkle of Parmesan for a fun twist.
