Description

This Savory Harry Potter Food recipe is the ultimate comfort dish featuring flaky puff pastry filled with seasoned ground beef, vegetables, and rich gravy. A perfect magical meal for Harry Potter parties or cozy dinners, inspired by British classics. Ideal for family meals and freezer-friendly too!

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 medium yellow onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp dried thyme

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

3/4 cup beef broth

1/2 cup diced carrots

1/2 cup green peas

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

2 sheets puff pastry, thawed

1 egg, beaten for egg wash

Instructions

1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned and cooked through.

2. Add diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.

3. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

4. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir until fully combined.

5. Pour in beef broth and stir until the mixture thickens into a gravy.

6. Add diced carrots and peas. Simmer for 5 minutes until vegetables are tender. Remove from heat and let cool.

7. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

8. Roll out puff pastry sheets and cut into squares.

9. Spoon filling onto half of each square, then fold and press edges with a fork to seal.

10. Place filled pastries on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

11. Brush the tops with beaten egg.

12. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

This recipe works great with ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.

Let the filling cool before placing it on the pastry to avoid sogginess.

You can freeze the pastries before baking and bake from frozen at 400°F for about 30 minutes.
