Ingredients
4 large sweet potatoes
1 stick butter
1 cup brown sugar
0.5 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
1. Peel about 4 large sweet potatoes and slice them into thick, even rounds, around ¼ to ½ inch thick.
2. In a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat, melt a stick of butter.
3. Stir in 1 cup of brown sugar and 0.5 cup of granulated sugar. Let it combine into a rich syrup.
4. Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and 0.5 teaspoon of nutmeg. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
5. Arrange the sweet potato slices in the skillet and spoon the syrup over them to coat evenly.
6. Cover and simmer on low for about 45 minutes, occasionally basting with syrup.
7. Once tender and glazed, transfer to a serving dish and drizzle with extra syrup.
