Description

This Spicy Shut Yo Mouth Sauce is the ultimate bold and fiery hot sauce recipe made with cayenne, vinegar, brown sugar, and spices. Perfect for BBQ, grilled meats, veggies, and more. Homemade spicy sauce lovers, this one packs serious heat and flavor.


Ingredients

3 tablespoons tomato paste

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup water (adjust as needed)


Instructions

1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar over medium heat until smooth and lightly bubbling.

2. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well.

3. Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4. Adjust the thickness by adding water 1 tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.

5. Remove from heat and let cool completely.

6. Transfer sauce to a glass jar or squeeze bottle and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.

Notes

This sauce gets spicier as it rests, so let it sit overnight for maximum flavor.

For a smokier flavor, swap cayenne for chipotle chili powder.
