Ingredients
1/2 lb flank or sirloin steak, thinly sliced
1/2 lb medium or large shrimp, peeled and deveined
8 oz stir-fry noodles (lo mein, yakisoba, or spaghetti)
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp ginger, grated
1 red or yellow bell pepper, sliced
2 green onions, chopped
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for slurry)
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp water (for sauce/slurry)
Instructions
1. Slice steak thinly against the grain and lightly season with salt and pepper. Pat shrimp dry and chop vegetables. Set all ingredients near the stove.
2. Cook noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain, rinse with cold water, and toss in a bit of oil to avoid sticking.
3. Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Sear steak in batches if needed until browned and tender. Remove and set aside.
4. Add more oil if needed, then cook shrimp for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
5. Stir-fry garlic, ginger, and bell peppers in the same pan until fragrant and slightly tender.
6. Return steak and shrimp to the pan. Add noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and water. If using cornstarch, mix it with water and add now. Toss everything well to coat evenly.
7. Drizzle with sesame oil and stir in green onions. Serve hot with optional sesame seeds or a squeeze of lime.
