Ingredients
1 lb steak (sirloin, ribeye, or flank)
8 oz pasta (linguine or fettuccine)
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/3 cup soy sauce
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. Season steak generously with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak 3–4 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your liking. Remove from skillet and let rest.
2. While steak rests, cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest and set pasta aside.
3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic, stirring until fragrant. Add soy sauce and brown sugar; simmer until it thickens slightly. Stir in red pepper flakes.
4. Slice rested steak thinly against the grain for tenderness.
5. Add cooked pasta and sliced steak into skillet. Toss everything together with the sauce, using pasta water to loosen if necessary. Warm for 1–2 minutes.
6. Serve immediately. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
Let steak rest before slicing to retain juices.
Adjust crushed red pepper to your heat preference.
Use pasta water to adjust sauce consistency without thinning flavor.
