Ingredients
1 lb ground chicken
1 cup Thai basil leaves
4 garlic cloves, minced
3 fresh Thai chilies, chopped (or to taste)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon fish sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon neutral oil (like canola or vegetable)
4 cups cooked jasmine rice (for serving)
Instructions
1. Mince the garlic and chop the chilies.
2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and chilies and sauté for 30 seconds.
3. Add ground chicken. Cook, breaking it up, until browned and no longer pink, about 5–6 minutes.
4. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Let simmer 2–3 minutes.
5. Add Thai basil and stir just until wilted, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
6. Remove from heat and serve hot over jasmine rice. Top with a fried egg if desired.
Notes
Use Italian basil only if Thai basil is unavailable.
Adjust chilies for mild, medium, or hot heat levels.
For meal prep, store without the egg and reheat as needed.
