Description
This Ultimate Cheesy Ground Beef Melt recipe is a quick and satisfying dinner idea made with ground beef, cheddar, mozzarella, and buttery toasted bread. Perfect for easy meals, weeknight comfort food, or family sandwiches with melty goodness.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
8 slices thick-cut bread (sourdough or Texas toast)
2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional, for toasting)
Instructions
1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until no longer pink, breaking it apart as it browns.
2. Drain any excess fat, then season the beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
3. Spread butter or mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.
4. Place bread butter-side-down on a skillet or griddle.
5. Top each slice with a layer of cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
6. Add a scoop of the cooked beef over the cheese.
7. Add more cheese on top, then place the second slice of bread on top, butter-side-up.
8. Grill sandwiches on medium heat for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing lightly with a spatula until golden brown and cheese is fully melted.
9. Remove from heat, let rest for a minute, then slice and serve warm.
Notes
Use sourdough or thick Texas toast for best results.
Mix up the cheeses to your taste—pepper jack or provolone work great too.
To reheat leftovers, use a skillet or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
