Description

Air Fryer Baked Potato is the easiest way to make crispy baked potato skin and fluffy potato centers at home. This simple air fryer potato recipe uses russet potatoes, olive oil, and salt for a classic side dish that pairs well with steak, chicken, salmon, or your favorite loaded baked potato toppings.


Ingredients

4 large russet potatoes

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

4 tablespoons butter

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

4 tablespoons chopped chives

1/4 cup cooked bacon bits


Instructions

1. Scrub the russet potatoes under cool water and pat them completely dry with a clean towel. Prick each potato a few times with a fork.

2. Rub the potatoes all over with olive oil, then season them evenly with kosher salt and black pepper.

3. Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between each one for proper air circulation.

4. Air fry at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 to 45 minutes, turning the potatoes halfway through cooking, until the skins are crisp and the centers are tender.

5. Remove the potatoes from the air fryer and let them rest for 1 to 2 minutes.

6. Slice each potato open lengthwise, gently press the ends, and fluff the inside with a fork.

7. Top with butter, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped chives, and bacon bits. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use russet potatoes for the fluffiest texture and the crispiest skin.

Dry the potatoes very well before oiling them so the skins crisp instead of steam.
