Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
3. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and undrained crushed pineapple, then stir just until combined.
4. Fold in the chopped pecans or walnuts if using.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
